The Ascend: Journal of Interdisciplinary Scholarship and Innovation (AJISI) adheres to the highest standards of academic integrity, transparency, and ethical responsibility. All parties involved in the publication process — authors, editors, reviewers, readers, and the publisher — share responsibility for maintaining public trust in scholarly work.
Originality and Integrity
Manuscripts must be original, truthful, and unpublished elsewhere.
Prohibited practices. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication, image manipulation, redundant publication, and misappropriation of others’ work are strictly prohibited.
Plagiarism Screening
All submissions undergo screening via Turnitin. A similarity index of 20% or below is required. Turnitin’s AI-detection features may also be used to identify undisclosed AI-generated content.
Citation Standards
All sources must be properly cited in APA 7th Edition format. Verify every reference against the original source before submitting.
Authorship
Authorship must reflect only individuals who made substantial scholarly contributions. Roles must be clearly stated following the CRediT taxonomy. Guest, ghost, and honorary authorship are prohibited. Any change in authorship after submission requires a formal request and approval by all original authors.

Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal conflicts that could influence interpretation of the research.
Ethical Compliance
Studies involving human participants must have ethics clearance from an accredited review board, with informed consent obtained. Confidentiality and anonymity must be respected unless explicit consent is granted.
